Shura Council Speakers from Qatar and Saudi Arabia Discuss Cooperative Enhancements

Riyadh: HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim held a meeting with HE Speaker of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Sheikh in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The discussions centered around enhancing cooperation and legislative collaboration between the two countries.

According to Qatar News Agency, Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Sheikh emphasized the deep historical relations between Qatar and Saudi Arabia. He pointed out that cooperation between their Shura Councils is a key channel for strengthening these ties and coordinating joint efforts on various levels. He also mentioned that such visits are valuable for exchanging expertise and advancing legislative work, benefiting state institutions and society.

HE Speaker Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim highlighted the strong and evolving relations between the two nations, guided by their respective leaderships. He stated that parliamentary cooperation is a significant dimension of bilateral relations, underlining a commitment to institutional and legislative development that aligns with the aspirations of both peoples. This cooperation also enhances the role of Gulf parliaments in supporting joint Gulf initiatives.

The meeting focused on existing cooperation and ways to further develop it by enhancing the exchange of legislative expertise, regional and international parliamentary coordination, and implementing best parliamentary practices. They also discussed several topics and issues of mutual interest.
