Mogadishu: The Somali army announced that at least 50 members of the Al Qaeda-linked Al Shabaab group, including senior commanders, were killed during a military operation in the south-west region of the country. According to Qatar News Agency, the Somali armed forces initiated the operation as a direct response to the assault, aiming to apprehend those responsible and dismantle militant positions in the area.
