The Arab Parliament denounced, today, Sunday, the attempts of the Zionist entity to classify UNRWA as a terrorist organization and criminalize its activities, considering this an extension of its attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause and eliminate the right of return. The Arab Parliament stressed in a statement 'the important and major role of UNRWA, which provides aid and relief to approximately 6.4 million Palestinian refugees, including two million refugees in the Gaza Strip who are subjected to unprecedented aggression, war of extermination and starvation.' It added: "We denounce the attempts of the Israeli occupation to classify the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) as a terrorist organization, criminalize its activities, and lift immunity from its employees. We consider this an extension of its criminal attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause and eliminate the right of return for Palestinian refugees." The Arab Parliament called on the international commu nity, international organizations and human rights organizations to 'assume their responsibilities towards stopping these repeated crimes and violations, the necessity of providing international protection for the Palestinian people, and the necessity of moving immediately and effectively and obligating the occupation to stop these ongoing violations of the rules of international law and international humanitarian law.' The Arab Parliament called for protection for relief organizations and their employees, especially UNRWA, which plays a major humanitarian role in providing humanitarian aid and services to Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian territories, including the Gaza Strip.
