The International Coalition: There Is No Plan To Do Anything In The Region

The former commander of the International Coalition Forces in Iraq and Syria, General Matthew MacFarlane, confirmed that the International Coalition does not plan to do anything in the region, denying what is being circulated about the United States of America preparing to carry out a military operation in Iraq and Syria.

MacFarlane said in a press conference held on Sunday evening: "What is being circulated is untrue, and that the movement of the American forces does not go beyond being routine procedures that the coalition forces carry out annually."

The former commander of the international coalition forces pointed out: "This is a routine and normal activity, when we bring in new forces with military equipment that take their places, and the old force retreats back for a week or two to make sure that the work is proceeding in a consistent and effective manner, after which the forces leave with their equipment."

He added, "We are responsible to our soldiers and their families, and we must make sure every time that they are not kept here for many years, but only for nine or 12 months. While we make sacrifices, we are committed to helping Iraq and the Iraqi people to establish security and stability.

A few days ago, the United States of America began mobilizing additional military forces in the region, moving them to new locations, and there was talk of American preparations to target the armed factions and strike Iran.

It is noteworthy that in 2014, the international coalition was formed against ISIS, after the organization took control of cities and large areas within the borders of Iraq and Syria, where the United States of America leads the coalition and provides material, military and logistical support to the Iraqi security forces and the Peshmerga in the war against ISIS.
