The World Bank Approves $225 Million Grant for Syrian Water and Health Projects

Washington: The World Bank has approved $225 million in grant financing through the International Development Association to support water and health projects in Syria, strengthening basic services and improving living conditions. According to Qatar News Agency, the funding is split between a $150 million project to rehabilitate the water sector, focusing on repairing water supply and sewage networks, and a $75 million project to support the health sector by improving access to healthcare and enhancing the efficiency of services provided. Around 4.5 million people are expected to benefit from these projects, which are part of efforts to support early recovery and promote stability, contributing to improved vital services and supporting the return of displaced persons.
