Doha: The third round of the 2025 Arabian Drag Racing League, organized by the Qatar Racing Club over two days, came to a close today, marked by a highly competitive atmosphere and strong participation at the club's drag racing track in the industrial area.
According to Qatar News Agency, the round was intense, culminating in 10 new champions, bringing the total number of titleholders to 33 across the first half of the championship, which spans six rounds. This has further intensified the battle for the season's championship in various categories.
The third round saw the top qualifiers in three categories continuing their momentum toward the final, clinching victory in their respective rounds. Badr Khorshid, who topped qualifying trials in the (Index 4.00) category, secured his second consecutive win in the championship, moving to the top of general standings for the category. He defeated Hussein Abdulrahim Ahmed, who reached the final for the first time, while Rashid Al Blooshi took third place.
In the (PRO NA) category, Syed Hussein Al Haddad, the top qualifier, claimed his first victory in the championship, defeating Mohammad Al Faris, champion of the first round, who settled for second place. Ali Abbas Ibrahim, champion of the previous round, came in third.
In the (6 Cylinder Import) category, Youssef Al Zayani, top qualifier, earned his second title, having already won the first round, defeating Ali Jumaa Al Khneizi, who took second place, while Milos Pavlovic secured third.
The competition, which covered a quarter-mile for car categories, saw fresh champions in this round. In the (Index 9.00) category, Fahad Al Khawari claimed the title, beating Ahmed Al Yaqoub, who finished second, while Musbah Ali Al Kaabi placed third.
In the (Index 8.50) category, Mike Paradise bounced back from his loss in the previous round's final, clinching the win over Ahmed Malallah, who took second, while Raed Al Bakr finished third.
In other car categories, which raced over an eighth-mile distance, the most competitive category, (Super Street Pro), saw Youssef Al Ali earn his first title after finishing third in the previous two rounds. He triumphed over Jaber Al Maghrabi, winner of the opening round, while Turki Al Dhafiri, champion of the last round, finished in third.
In the (Super Street Outlaw) category, a final showdown between the same competitors from the second round, David Rios and Khaled Sultan, took place once again. However, this time, Sultan made up for his loss in the previous round and secured his first championship title, leaving Rios in second place and Jaber Salman in third.
In the (Index 4.50) category, a similar final battle occurred once again between Shawn Langdon and Abdullah Al Yassin. This time, Al Yassin managed to avenge his defeat by Langdon in the previous round and won his first championship title, while Langdon had to settle for second place. Fawaz Ibrahim Ahmed Ali claimed third place.
In the (Index 4.80) category, the last car category, Rashid Al Balooshi took first place, achieving his second title after winning the opening round. He won against Abdullah Al Kandari, who came second for the second consecutive round, while Zayed Al Balushi finished in third place for the second round in a row.
In the toughest motorcycle category, (Super Street Bike), Mishaal Al Sabir redeemed his loss in the final round of the previous event by claiming his first win in the championship, after a final race against Ahmed Al Nakhilan, runner-up of the opening round. Mohammed Al Awad, who had won the previous two rounds, took third place in this round.
Ahmad Bin Bilal claimed his first victory in the (Super Street Bike) category after a final race against Mishari Al Turki, who took second place, while Ahmad Al Mahous took third.
In the (Street Bike) category, Mousa Al Balooshi won his first title this season after a final race against Mohamed Bourashed, who placed second. Ahmad Bin Bilal finished in third place.
Finally, in the (Index 8.50) motorcycle category, a new champion emerged, with Mohammad Ali winning after defeating Nasser Bou Rabah, champion of the opening round, who placed second. Hussein Ashkenani took third place in this round.
At the end of the competition, HE General Director of Qatar Racing Club, Sheikh Jabor bin Khalid Al-Thani, awarded winners of the top three places in each category, marking the conclusion of the third round of the Arabian Drag Racing League 2025. Preparations are now underway for the fourth round, scheduled from January 28 to 31.
