Turkey announces the evacuation of its citizens from Lebanon starting tomorrow, Wednesday

The Turkish Foreign Ministry announced that the evacuation of its citizens wishing to leave Lebanon will begin tomorrow, Wednesday. The Turkish Foreign Ministry explained in a statement that the evacuation process will be carried out by sea. The Turkish Foreign Ministry said: "Our citizens who have applied to leave Lebanon will be evacuated by sea starting tomorrow, October 9." It added: "To this end, two ships belonging to the Turkish Navy will head today from Mersin Province in the south of the country to Beirut." The Turkish Foreign Ministry indicated that the total capacity of the two ships is two thousand people. It stated that the Turkish Consulate General in Beirut will provide its citizens in Lebanon with details of the evacuation process. It confirmed that the evacuation operations will continue in the following days if necessary, without further details. The Turkish Foreign Ministry continued in its statement: "Preparations to meet the needs of our citizens upon their arrival in our country have been completed. Our ships designated for evacuation will also transport our humanitarian aid to Lebanon." In a related context, diplomatic sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the number of Turkish citizens who have applied to leave Lebanon so far is 2,500 people, noting that all Turkish citizens who have applied for evacuation have been contacted. They indicated that citizens will be informed of information about the gathering place and time via text messages on their phones.
