Turkish National Defense Minister Yasar Guler and US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin discussed a number of bilateral, regional and international issues of common interest over a telephone call on Tuesday.
During the phone call, they exchanged views on Sweden's potential membership of NATO, the deal to purchase F16 fighters from Washington and the modernization of its current fleet of fighters themselves.
In a statement, the Pentagon stated that Austin and Guler discussed bilateral and multilateral common defense objectives and welcomed the long-standing military cooperation between the two countries and the ongoing "close cooperation" between them.
