UAE Consul Attends Opening Ceremony of New Passenger Terminal in Zanzibar Operated by Dnata

His Excellency Saleh Al-Theeb Alhemeiri, Consul General of the UAE in Zanzibar, attended the opening ceremony of the new terminal at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, in Zanzibar, Tanzania. The new terminal is operated by Dnata, the global provider of aviation and travel services, in partnership with Emirates Leisure Retail. The ceremony was also attended by His Excellency Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, President of Zanzibar.

His Excellency President Mwinyi conveyed through the Consul the greetings and appreciation of Zanzibar to the UAE, which has continued championing initiatives to support Zanzibar, culminating recently in the opening of the UAE Consulate General in the region. His Excellency President Mwinyi also noted the success of UAE national companies in strategic projects in Zanzibar, such as the management of the new terminal at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, which strengthens the growing relations between the UAE and Zanzibar.

The use of Dnata and Emirates Leisure Retail to operate the new terminal at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport reflects the central and developmental role that the UAE plays in Africa, especially in the Zanzibar region, which is an important strategic, tourist, and historical center in East Africa.
