Gaza: Deputy Spokesman for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Farhan Haq, confirmed today, Sunday, that the sea corridor cannot be an alternative to land crossings, although he welcomes any efforts aimed at delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza. According to the United Nations Information Center, Haq said: 'Given the enormous needs in Gaza, the purpose of the floating dock is to complement the work of the existing land crossings for aid entering Gaza, and it is not intended to replace any of the crossings.' Haq explained that this is a multinational effort to deliver additional aid to the Palestinians in the Strip through a sea corridor that is entirely humanitarian in nature Source: Maan News Agency
