US President Trump Deems Iran’s Response to Peace Proposals Unacceptable

Doha: US President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that Iran's response to proposals aimed at ending the ongoing conflict is "totally unacceptable," signifying a continued deadlock in efforts to reach a settlement. The remarks highlight the persisting challenges in diplomatic negotiations and the complex geopolitical dynamics involving Iran.

According to Qatar News Agency, the State of Qatar recently hosted the Arab Conference on Promoting Environmental Sustainability in Societies 2026. This significant event was organized by the Regional Network for Social Responsibility under the patronage of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, underscoring Qatar's commitment to environmental issues.

Meanwhile, Egypt issued a condemnation on Sunday regarding the targeting of a commercial cargo ship within Qatar's territorial waters. This incident has drawn widespread condemnation from several nations. The United Arab Emirates also condemned the attack, describing it as a terrorist drone assault that led to a small fire on the ship, though no injuries were reported.

Additionally, Saudi Arabia has expressed strong condemnation of the targeting of Qatar's territorial waters, reaffirming its support for measures taken by Gulf states to ensure their security and stability. The Arab League has similarly condemned the attacks impacting Qatar, Kuwait, and UAE territories.

In related developments, HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi met with HE Dr. Gunter Sautter, Political and Security Advisor to Germany's Chancellor, during his visit to Qatar. Meanwhile, Kuwait's Chief of the General Staff, Lt Gen Khaled Al Shariaan, held discussions with UK's Ministry of Defense Senior Adviser Vice-Admiral Edward Ahlgren on regional security concerns.

In economic news, Qatar Central Bank's international reserves and foreign currency liquidity saw a 1.90 percent increase on a yearly basis in April, reaching QAR 262.026 billion. This financial growth reflects Qatar's robust economic strategies.

Furthermore, Qatar News Agency launched its news services in three additional languages-Russian, Hindi, and Urdu-using artificial intelligence as part of its developmental plan. This expansion brings the total number of languages offered by QNA to eight, enhancing its global news reach.
