The US Central Command (USCENTCOM) affirmed that its forces were able to destroy an uncrewed aerial system (UAS) and two anti-ship ballistic missiles (ASBM) that targeted the USS Gravely with no damage or injuries. USCENTCOM said in a statement on the X platform that US Central Command forces destroyed one UAS in the southern Red Sea, the US Al Hurra TV channel reported. "USCENTCOM forces also observed two other UAS crash into the Red Sea. No injuries or damage was reported by US, coalition, or commercial ships," it said. The statement said that USCENTCOM forces successfully engaged two ASBM in the southern Red Sea. "The ASBM were fired in the direction of USS Gravely and were destroyed in self-defense, with no damage or injuries reported by US, coalition, or commercial ships," it added. "It was determined these UAS and ASBM presented an imminent threat to US, coalition forces, and merchant vessels in the region. USCENTCOM's actions are taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for US, coalition, and merchant vessels," it stressed. The UK Ministry of Defense announced at dawn Friday that it had carried out a "joint operation" with US forces, which included launching raids against Houthi sites in Yemen. Source: Qatar News Agency
