Among those who stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque during the period of the storming was the head of the occupation government, Itamar Ben Gvir. He said during the storming and his walk in Al-Aqsa, "I came to Al-Aqsa to pray for the kidnapped and for their return to their homes without an illegal deal and without surrender. I am working hard so that the prime minister can achieve this. The strength is not to retreat and to continue until victory." During Ben Gvir's raid, the forces imposed restrictions on Muslims entering it. On the other hand, the boy, Ayham Al-Salaymeh, 14 years old, was sentenced to 12 years in prison, after spending several months under house arrest.
