Deputy Prime Minister and the Special Representative of the Sultan of Oman Asa'ad bin Tariq Al Said has called for the need to take a more influential and effective Arab position that guarantees the Palestinian people the right to self-determination, obtain comprehensive international recognition of their independent state, and secure the desired two-state solution in accordance with what was stipulated in the United Nations resolutions, the Arab Peace Initiative, and the rules of international law. Al Said, in his speech before the 33rd Arab Summit held in the Bahraini capital, Manama ton Thursday, that "without this, our region would not not enjoy the permanent stability and sustainable prosperity that the people of the countries of the region and the entire world yearn for," calling on the international community to move immediately in this direction, and to practice the actual application of international law standards to achieve and establish justice for the Palestinian people, and ensure security and s tability for all. He stressed the importance of respecting the policy of good neighborliness, the sovereignty of states over their territories, non-interference in their internal affairs, and preserving the right of peoples to live together in dignity and independence, pointing out that this summit was held in exceptional circumstances, especially since the Arab nation is in dire need of empowerment in preserving and developing its security, its geopolitical environment, and its position in the face of challenges and complications that cannot be overcome alone, but rather together, even with the minimum of consensus, mutual support, and cooperation.
