4th GCC Games Doha 2026 Organizing Committee Signals Readiness for Tournament

Doha: The organizing committee of the 4th GCC Games Doha 2026 affirmed its readiness to host the tournament, which will take place from May 11 to 22. At a press conference on Sunday, the organizing committee reviewed the event's final arrangements and logistical preparations. It also unveiled the tournament's mascot and announced the list of sponsors and strategic partners supporting the event and ensuring its success. The games will feature the participation of more than 1,074 male and female athletes representing the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), competing across 19 sports.

According to Qatar News Agency, Chairman of the Marketing and Communications Committee at Doha 2026, Sheikh Abdullah bin Saoud Al-Thani said that logistical preparations have been completed to ensure the tournament's successful organization. The 4th GCC Games Doha 2026 is an opportunity to build a unifying identity reflecting the region's uniqueness and meeting the aspirations of sports fans, in addition to strengthening shared values among GCC countries within a competitive environment that combines sportsmanship and cultural closeness, he added. The Chairman of the Marketing and Communications Committee said that the committee will implement a multi-phase marketing campaign over the coming period aimed at achieving a high turnout and engagement, noting that the opening ceremony will be held at the Al Shaqab Indoor Arena.

For her part, head of marketing and sponsorship at the organizing committee, Mariam Al Mansouri said that the official mascot is inspired by the Desert Lynx, an homage to the local environment. As for the logo, she added, it reflects the GCC countries' cultural unity under the slogan 'One Gulf, One Heart,' in a show of unity, balance, and professionalism. In the same context, head of the Qatari delegation for the 4th GCC Games Doha 2026, Najla Al Khayarin stated that team Qatar will consist of more than 300 male and female athletes. The national team will seek to deliver an outstanding performance, continuing their achievements and meeting their fans' expectations, Al Khayarin added.
