An earthquake measuring 6.3 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Tuesday night, off the coast of Panama on the Pacific Ocean, without immediate reports of human losses or material damage.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the earthquake was relatively shallow and occurred at a depth of 13 km.
For its part, the National Civil Protection System in Panama announced that the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.7 and struck 72 km from the coast, where it was felt by most of the population of the Central American country, but no deaths or damage were reported.
No warnings were issued of the possibility of a tsunami due to the earthquake. (QNA)
