Bucheon: At least seven people were injured on Thursday after a South Korean Air Force fighter jet accidentally dropped eight bombs outside a training range during live-fire exercises, authorities said.
According to Qatar News Agency, local authorities reported receiving a notification that a projectile, believed to have originated from the jet, fell on a road near a civilian home in Bucheon, 40 kilometers north of Seoul. The incident resulted in injuries to seven individuals, with the severity ranging from minor to serious, and caused destruction to buildings.
The incident involved a KF-16 fighter jet, which was participating in a live-fire exercise and “abnormally” released eight MK-82 bombs outside the designated training range in Bucheon.
The Air Force has announced an ongoing investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
