The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, called for launching a comprehensive national campaign to reduce the prevalence of illiteracy.
Al-Hakim said in a statement: “On International Literacy Day, we aspire to launch a comprehensive national campaign to reduce the prevalence of illiteracy in Iraqi society, especially rural society, and to take solid scientific steps towards ridding the country of its consequences, spreading the culture of science, learning and knowledge among society, and expanding the horizon of cooperation between all institutions to reduce the effects of illiteracy.”/End
