The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar Al-Hakim, received the new Canadian Ambassador to Iraq, Cathy Banka, and they discussed developments in the political scene in Iraq and the region. During the meeting, Al-Hakim stressed, according to a statement from his office, the importance of the achieved stability and its impact and positive repercussions on the security of Iraq and the region. He stressed the necessity of perpetuating this stability and transforming it into permanent stability, holding everyone responsible for achieving this goal. The head of the movement called for noting popular satisfaction with the government and the political forces supporting it, pointing out: 'This satisfaction results from the government's vision and its service and development projects that the citizen has begun to sense and live the details of their achievement.' He stressed the need to develop relations with Canada, noting: 'Iraq offers promising opportunities in the field of construction and reconstruction,' calling for investing in these opportunities through the presence of companies in the Iraqi market. He renewed the demand for the implementation of international legitimacy resolutions, a ceasefire in Gaza, and relief for the Palestinian people who are being subjected to genocide.
