Al Raya: Systematic Israeli Massacres Aim to Terrorize Journalists, Prevent Them from Reporting the Truth

Doha: Al Raya newspaper said the systematic killing of media personnel by Israeli occupation forces and its deliberate massacres aimed at intimidating journalists and preventing them from fulfilling their humanitarian duty to uncover the truth and report on the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza and Lebanon. In its editorial on Saturday titled "Continuous Israeli Crimes Against Journalists," the newspaper emphasized that the horrific scenes of Israeli crimes and ethnic cleansing practices against the Lebanese people, similar to those faced by their Palestinian brethren in Gaza and the occupied territories, have reached the world thanks to the sacrifices of media crews. These journalists, aware of the dangers they face, consider themselves potential martyrs as they fulfill their sacred duty, protected under international laws, to freely practice their profession. Al Raya asserted that the Israeli occupation disregards any form of immunity for media personnel, consistently targeting them and their famili es in an attempt to terrorize and deter them from carrying out their professional responsibilities as voices for the voiceless. The paper also highlighted a recent Israeli attack that targeted media personnel during a break in Hasbaya, southern Lebanon, killing three journalists and injuring others. The area had no signs of conflict or military engagements, underscoring the deliberate nature of the attack. Al Raya added that the occupation, which has been exposed globally and has become a symbol of killing and destruction, continues to commit its crimes against everyone without exception, including media crews, after it received a green light from the international community to escalate its aggression and crimes because it escapes punishment every time. The newspaper concluded by questioning the rationale behind Israel's continued targeting of journalists in Gaza, the West Bank, and war-torn Lebanon, adding, what threat do these media professionals and their families pose to Israeli security? Or is it mere ly a vengeful message aimed at silencing those who have dedicated their lives to exposing the truth and amplifying the voices of innocent, oppressed victims to the world?.
