Al Rayyan crowned HH the Amir Volleyball Cup Champions

Doha-QNA) – Al-Rayyan team won the volleyball championship of HH the Amir Cup for the 2020-2021 sports season, after its victory this evening over Al-Arabi by three sets of two halves in the final match that was held at the Qatar Volleyball Association Hall.

After the match, HE First Vice President of the Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Saud bin Ali Al-Thani, accompanied by President of the Qatar Volleyball Association, Ali Ghanem Al-Kuwari, to hand Al-Rayyan the championship cup, gold medals, and a prize of QR 500,000, while Al-Arabi team, the second, were handed silver medals and a prize of QR 300,000.

The match was exciting and strong between the two teams, as it witnessed an exciting competition between both teams for the title which Al Arabi were title holders going into the match.

The President of the Qatar Volleyball Association Ali Ghanem Al-Kuwari, praised the performance of the two teams in today’s match and the high technical level, and praised Al-Rayyan team’s victory in the title, which it decided today after its victory over Al-Arabi with a score of (2/3) after a strong match from the two teams.

Al-Kuwari indicated in a press statement after the end of today’s match, that Al-Rayyan team presented an advanced level during the tournament, and was able to obtain the title thanks to the good performance, although the competition for the title was not easy in light of the fierce competition from the rest of the teams that were seeking to win the title.

Al-Kuwari added that the competition was strong and exciting, and a number of clubs appeared at distinguished levels, noting that the 2020-2021 season was exceptional in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. He also expected that the next season 2021-2022 will witness great competition between clubs for the sake of winning titles.

For his part, Al Rayyan player Mubarak Dahi said after the end of the match, I congratulate all the team members, and that the victory came after a strong match, which came at the end of the season, which is one of the longest seasons due to Covid-19, and that the team succeeded in achieving the most expensive local tournaments for Qatari volleyball .

Camilo Soto, coach of Al Rayyan team, also expressed his happiness with the victory and the performance of the team that succeeded in achieving victory despite being late in the first round of the match, indicating that the match was strong between the two teams and presented a wonderful match in its technical level and there was a convergence in performance.
