Making her racecourse debut, the Al Shaqab Racing owned filly ALOBRAH (Mshawish x Damsah) scored with plenty of authority when landing a Maiden Claiming Stakes (1,400m) at Gulfstream Park (USA) on Thursday, October 21st.
Trained by Ralph Nicks, the two-year-old took the seven-runner race in fine style under a good ride from Samy Camacho. Drawn against the rail in stall one, Alobrah went clear inside the closing stages to score by one and a quarter lengths from Dominant Joy (Mohaymen), who finished second, with Tone Elise (Tonalist) a further nine lengths back in third.
Bred and owned by Al Shaqab Racing, Alobrah is by Taylor Made Farm’s Group 1 winning stallion Mshawish (Medaglia d’Oro). Her dam, Damsah (Mr Greeley) won a maiden at Deauville. She is a sister to four winners, including the Group 2 placed Moteo (Teofilo). The second dam Modeeroch (Mozart) was a dual listed winner and was placed at Group 2 level.
