The Supreme Ayatollah, Sayyed Ali al-Sistani, expressed his solidarity with the Lebanese people against the brutal Israeli aggression and its savage methods.
In a statement from his office, Sayyed al-Sistani stressed: "The honorable Lebanese people are increasingly exposed to the brutal Israeli aggression and savage methods, including the bombing of large numbers of personal communication devices and the like, targeting homes crowded with citizens, including women and children, and launching intensive raids on dozens of villages and towns in the south and Bekaa, which has resulted - so far - in the martyrdom and wounding of large numbers of heroic resistance fighters and other innocent civilians and the displacement of tens of thousands from their homes and houses."
The statement added: "The supreme Ayatollah expresses his solidarity with his dear Lebanese people and his condolences to them in their great suffering, raising his hands in supplication to God Almighty to protect them and repel from them the evil of the wicked and the plots of the wicked, and to include their righteous martyrs in mercy and contentment and to grant the wounded and injured a speedy recovery." The statement continued: "Sayyid Ali Al-Sistani while demanding that every possible effort be made to stop this ongoing barbaric aggression and protect the Lebanese people from its destructive effects, calls on believers to do what contributes to alleviating their suffering and securing their humanitarian needs."
