Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani held a discussion session with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati A statement by al-Sudani media office said that the Prime Minister and his Lebanese counterpart discussed relations between the two countries, ways to develop them, paths to strengthen the economic partnership, and the bilateral agreement regarding the supply of Iraqi oil to Lebanon. According to the statement, the two sides confirmed the continued efforts of government agencies in both countries to solve the problem of delay in completing certificate equivalencies for Iraqi students. The Prime Minister stressed that Iraq's positions on Lebanon stem from the commitment and brotherhood that brings together the two brotherly peoples, and from the responsible regional and international role that Iraq takes regarding developments in the region. The Prime Minister stressed: the necessity of stopping the aggression against Lebanon and Palestine and making efforts to prevent the conflict from expanding re gionally and causing more innocent victims and martyrs. For his part, Mikati expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Prime Minister and the steps of the Iraqi government in supporting economic relations with Lebanon, reiterating the invitation for the Prime Minister to visit Lebanon. Mikati appreciated the Iraqi efforts in support of rapprochement and stability regionally and internationally, stressing his government's efforts to raise the level of security cooperation and coordination with Iraq in the field of combating terrorism and pursuing drug trafficking.
