Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani confirmed that Iraq's policy depends on balance and we have principles based on common interests and good neighbourliness. Al-Sudani said after receiving Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan: We signed various agreements with the Turkish side. He added: At the water level, we have signed agreements that will modernize irrigation systems. It will last 10 years and its impact will be clearly felt, especially with regard to Iraq's water share. He explained that a four-way memorandum of understanding was signed today that includes the principles of the development path, indicating that the development path will move the region economically. Al- Sudani said that the path of development will not only shorten distances, but will turn into a bridge linking the peoples and cultures of the region and will support security and stability in the region. He added that bilateral security between the two countries was discussed, and the security of Turkey and Iraq is one indivisi ble unit. He continued: We start from the Iraqi constitution and adhere to not allowing any force to use Iraqi land as a launching pad for attacking the neighborhood Al-Sudani stressed that Jerusalem is an Islamic symbol and insulting Palestinian sanctities is unacceptable For his part, the Turkish President stressed that Iraq is a neighboring country and we have many commonalities with it. He said: We have a political will to push Iraq-Turkey relations forward He added that the memorandums that were signed represent a turning point in our relations with Iraq. He continued: We will provide the necessary coordination to ensure the full implementation of the agreements signed with Iraq. Erdogan explained that he discussed with the Prime Minister cooperation in the security and counter-terrorism files. He said we are ready to provide support to the Iraqi government in combating terrorism. The Turkish President indicated that the volume of trade exchange between Iraq and Turkey has risen to 20 billion do llars. He added, "We are determined to participate in the development path to achieve commercial development." He said: We established a Turkish-Iraqi committee to solve the water problem on a scientific and rational basis He explained that he discussed with Al-Sudani the effects of Zionist oppression in Gaza and that we consulted on joint steps to calm the situation He said: We support the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital He added: We discussed establishing a permanent committee to follow up on the water file with Iraq.
