The political advisor to the Prime Minister, Subhan Al-Mulla Chiyad, revealed a visit by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani to Italy next week. Al-Mulla Chiyad said in a statement to the official newspaper (al-Sabah): 'The Prime Minister will go to the Italian capital, Rome, on a two-day visit starting on the tenth of this month of May,' explaining that 'this visit comes within the framework of the Iraqi diplomatic openness led by al-Sudani's government, linking it to the economic dimension.' He stated that "Iraq and Italy have many similarities at the political and diplomatic levels, as well as interconnected interests at the economic level. There are many Italian companies that have dealt and are dealing with Iraq, especially in industries related to the energy sectors, in addition to Italy's participation in the international coalition in the war against ISIS and its support for Iraq.' He stressed that "this visit comes within the framework of arranging the bilateral relationship between Iraq and t he international coalition countries in preparation for scheduling its withdrawal from Iraq."
