AMAN Initiates Ramadan Activities for Women and Children

Doha: The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (AMAN) is orchestrating a series of awareness-raising and recreational activities tailored for women, children, and victims of family disintegration, in alignment with the holy month of Ramadan. The initiative also extends to the beneficiaries of AMAN’s internal care department (temporary shelter), offering them a secure family environment.

According to Qatar News Agency, participants are engaged in decorating the facility in anticipation of Ramadan and have established a prayer area in collaboration with the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs. The program features religious lectures following Tarawih prayers, encourages beneficiaries to memorize sections of the Holy Quran, and includes storytelling of the prophets’ lives for children.

The activities encompass training programs such as cooking courses for children, recreational competitions, and preparations for the traditional Garangao celebrations. Sheikh Dr. Nasser bin Ahmed Al-Thani, AMAN’s Executive Director, stressed the significance of these activities in promoting a secure environment for beneficiaries, enhancing their psychological, physical, and mental well-being, and boosting self-confidence through collaborative interaction. He highlighted the importance of reintegrating the target groups with their families and society to foster family stability.

Additionally, AMAN’s Communications and Media Office Director Hanan Al Ali mentioned that the activities will feature an awareness segment twice a week, including educational and entertainment competitions for children and visitors at the Hayat Plaza complex. The objective is to reach as many women, children, and girls as possible, familiarizing them with the center’s social protection services. She also announced the launch of a Ramadan competition on AMAN’s social media channels.

Moreover, AMAN will set up awareness booths in celebration of International Women’s Day 2025. These will take place at the Qatar Foundation-linked Al Mujadilah Center and the Minaretein Center at the Education City Mosque to highlight the center’s roles and services offered to their target demographics.

Founded in 2013 under the Ministry of Social Development and Family’s Qatar Foundation for Social Work, AMAN is dedicated to safeguarding and rehabilitating women and children who have suffered from violence and family breakdown, aiming to reintegrate them into society through protection, rehabilitation, and awareness initiatives.
