Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to QNA: Qatar Has Proven Itself as Honest Mediator in International Disputes

Doha: HE Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the State of Qatar Marat Nuraliev confirmed that Qatar has proven itself as a very honest mediator who seeks to resolve conflicts in the world fairly, which has led to strengthening its position in the region and the whole world. In remarks to Qatar News Agency , His Excellency said that Qatar's accession to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) as a Dialogue Partner allows it to participate in relevant events within the organization at the invitation of member states. He added that within the framework of the organization, mutual trust, friendship, and cooperation can be strengthened with member states, as well as dialogue partner countries, including Qatar, to maintain and enhance peace, security, and stability in the region. He added that in 2022, within the framework of the SCO summit in Samarkand, a decision was approved to accept new dialogue partners into the organization, including the State of Qatar. HE the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to th e State of Qatar praised the mediation efforts undertaken by Qatar in a number of international files, pointing out that his country views this role very positively, and that the whole world knows the successful mediation policy undertaken by Qatar, which is a great and immense effort. Regarding the assessment of the level of relations between the State of Qatar and the Kyrgyz Republic across various fields, HE Ambassador Marat Nuraliev indicated that the cooperation between the two countries has been gaining momentum every year and has been at a high level since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries on Mar. 3, 1998, when several bilateral meetings were held, such as: the meeting of the intergovernmental committees concerned with economic and technical cooperation, the meeting of joint political consultations between the two foreign ministries, and the establishment of national and cultural days, in addition to conducting various successful mutual visits at the highest levels. His Excellency also pointed out that the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the Kyrgyz Republic in 2023 was the first visit by an Arab leader to the Kyrgyz Republic, pointing out that during the visit, a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed between the two countries. The visit also opened a new page to improve the level of relations between the two countries. His Excellency added that in 2022, HE the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov attended the final match of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. He added that Kyrgyz businesspersons also participated in various international exhibitions held in Qatar, such as the Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ), the Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha, and other exhibitions, calling for continuing to strengthen relations between the two countries and raising the level of cooperation. Regarding future plans to enhance cooperation between the two sides, especially in the fields of economy, trade, and inves tment, HE the Ambassador said that the two countries are seeking to raise the level of trade and economic cooperation between them better than it is now, pointing out that they have not yet used the full potential they have in the economic field at the appropriate level. Concluding his remarks to QNA, HE Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the State of Qatar Marat Nuraliev said that it is necessary to raise the level of trade and economic cooperation to a new level, which leads to an increase in the volume of trade exchange between the two countries. He noted that this can be achieved through a number of steps, including, for example opening direct flights between the capitals of the two countries, attracting investors to implement projects of mutual benefit in various fields, and developing cooperation in the hydropower sector as Kyrgyzstan is famous for its great potential in the field of hydropower. He added that it is also possible to cooperate in the field of tourism, expand cooperation in the field o f agriculture, and improve conditions for trade in agricultural products and investment in the agricultural industrial complex, in addition to intensifying the work of the joint committee for economic, commercial and technical cooperation between the two countries.
