Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani led the funeral prayer for the martyrs who lost their lives in a tragic helicopter crash in Qatar's territorial waters. The prayer took place at Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque in Doha after Maghrib prayer, attended by the families of the martyrs, on Sunday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the helicopter crash resulted in the martyrdom of personnel from the Qatar Armed Forces and the Qatari-Turkish Joint Forces. The Ministry of Defense confirmed the crash, which occurred at dawn on Sunday, and expressed deep sorrow for the loss of lives in service to the nation. The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, and the Arab Parliament extended their condolences to Qatar and Turkiye.
Moreover, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his heartfelt condolences over the incident. Neighboring countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, and Pakistan, conveyed their deepest sympathies to the governments and peoples of Qatar and Turkiye.
