UAE Intercepts Iranian Missiles and Drones Amid Rising Tensions

Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates announced that its air defense systems successfully intercepted two ballistic missiles and three drones launched from Iran on Friday, highlighting the ongoing regional tensions. The UAE Ministry of Defense disclosed the information through the Emirates News Agency, reporting that the recent attack resulted in moderate injuries to three individuals.

According to Qatar News Agency, the UAE Ministry of Defense revealed that since the onset of the Iranian attacks, the nation's air defense systems have intercepted a total of 551 ballistic missiles, 29 cruise missiles, and 2,263 drones. The statement further noted that the cumulative number of injuries from these attacks has reached 230, affecting Emirati nationals along with Arab and foreign residents.

The UAE armed forces have declared that they remain on "full alert," emphasizing their readiness to address any threats to the country's security and stability. The ministry affirmed that any attempts to compromise national security would be met with a firm response, while also ensuring the protection of the UAE's sovereignty, strategic interests, and critical capabilities.
