An Iraqi delegation discusses in Istanbul the latest developments in the development road project

The Development Road team, consisting of the Director General of the General Company for Ports of Iraq, Farhan Al-Fartusi, the Director General of the General Company for Railways, Younis Al-Kaabi, and a number of officials, held meetings in the city of Istanbul, to discuss a number of issues related to the latest developments in the Development Road Project. The Director General of the General Company for Iraqi Ports said, "The meetings discussed the latest developments in the development road project, and the latest findings of the Italian consulting company (PEG) regarding the implementation of the designs for the project." He added, "At the same time, the measures taken by the Turkish side within their territories to prepare the requirements for connection with the Iraqi (Fish Khabour) port were discussed." It is noteworthy that the Italian consulting company (PEG) revealed earlier that the choice of the path of the development road was based on terrain data, and that the study of the project was based on the completion of the pre-feasibility study for the large Al-Faw port project, and that the project is a major opportunity for the Iraqis because it will contribute to reviving the economy. And it will develop the commercial and economic sector and renewable energy in Iraq and will contribute to transporting goods from the south to the north at the lowest time and cost through the large Al-Faw port, tanker routes and modern railway lines.
