Anouz rules out approving the budget in Monday’s session… for these reasons

Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, Muhammad Anouz, ruled out approving the budget in next Monday's session, specifying the reasons.. Anouz said, in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): 'It is unlikely that a quorum will be achieved to hold the budget approval session next Monday, due to the travel of approximately 100 MPs to Hajj, and the continuous absence of 100 other MPs for various reasons, and therefore a quorum will not be achieved to hold the session." He explained: 'The Legal Committee announced that it had completed its report on the budget, but it was not distributed to the MPs to read it and see the budget numbers and financial allocations for each ministry.' Anouz suggested that Parliament would continue its work and extend its legislative term until after Eid al-Adha, in order for the MPs to return and approve the budget after the Eid.
