Arab league: The Arab League has issued a strong condemnation of the illegal and hostile infiltration by members of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) into Kuwait's Bubiyan Island. This incursion led to a confrontation with Kuwaiti forces and resulted in the injury of a Kuwaiti serviceman.
According to Qatar News Agency, Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, in a statement on Tuesday, described the incident as a dangerous precedent and a clear attempt to destabilize regional security during a highly sensitive period. He emphasized that this action is a blatant violation of international law, the UN Charter, and UN Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026).
Aboul Gheit criticized the escalating Iranian actions targeting multiple Gulf states, which include attacks on both territorial and maritime areas. He called for an immediate cessation of all hostile activities by Iran in the region.
Furthermore, the Secretary-General reaffirmed the Arab League's full solidarity with Kuwait and its right to self-defense as enshrined in Article 51 of the UN Charter. He underscored that Kuwait's security is an integral part of the broader Arab national security framework.
