Israeli media reported that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will visit Israel this week, for the eighth time since the start of the war in Gaza. Reports of his visit come as the United States and Israel await Hamas' response to the hostage release proposal and ceasefire agreement presented by US President Joe Biden last week. Last May 31, Biden announced the terms of a new draft peace agreement consisting of three stages. On the same day, Hamas announced a positive evaluation of the initiative proposed by Biden, explaining that the movement agrees to consider settlement proposals in Gaza if the Israeli side declares its commitment to the same basis for negotiation.
