Cabinet Holds Regular Meeting to Discuss Regional Stability and International Cooperation

Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting at the Amiri Diwan. Following the meeting, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi provided a statement on the discussions and outcomes of the session.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Cabinet began by acknowledging the efforts of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in promoting diplomatic solutions and dialogue to resolve disputes. These efforts are seen as vital for enhancing security and stability at both regional and international levels. The Cabinet highlighted HH the Amir's recent diplomatic activities, including his visit to Muscat for discussions with HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman and prior engagements in Doha with key figures such as HE Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and HE President of the European Council Antonio Costa.

Additionally, HH the Amir participated in a significant joint meeting in Antalya, Turkiye, alongside HE President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan and HE Prime Minister of Pakistan. This meeting occurred during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2026. Furthermore, HH the Amir hosted HRH Crown Prince of Jordan Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II in Doha, reinforcing diplomatic ties.

The Cabinet voiced optimism that these mediation efforts would encourage all parties to commit to the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, with a view to achieving lasting peace, securing regional stability, and protecting regional resources.

In terms of legislative matters, the Cabinet reviewed a draft law proposing amendments to Law No. 11 of 2016 concerning the State Audit Bureau and took the necessary decisions on the matter. Additionally, the Cabinet agreed to join the International Transport Forum (ITF), reflecting Qatar's commitment to global transportation initiatives.

The meeting concluded with the Cabinet assessing three reports: participation outcomes from the Real Estate Future Forum in Riyadh, insights from the 28th extraordinary meeting of the GCC Transport Ministers in Bahrain, and the 19th report from the National Committee for Civil Aviation Security. Appropriate decisions were made regarding these reports, underscoring the Cabinet's ongoing focus on international cooperation and national security.
