Manama, Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), received Lieutenant General (Retired) Sir Tom Beckett, the outgoing Executive Director of International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS-Middle East), on the end of his tenure. Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Chief of Staff, attended the meeting. Sir Beckett introduced Lieutenant General Martin Sampson, the new Executive Director of IISS-Middle East. The Commander-in-Chief praised the efforts of Sir Beckett during his tenure, wishing the new Executive Director success in performing his new duties. He lauded the development and progress of the IISS in the field of conducting research, preparing studies, providing consultations, and the excellence in organising international conferences.
