Department of Meteorology Warns of Strong Winds and High Seas

Doha: The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning regarding strong winds and high seas expected offshore on Sunday. The department's daily weather report highlights that inshore conditions until 6:00 pm will be relatively hot to hot during the daytime, with blowing dust occurring at certain locations intermittently, and conditions becoming moderate by night. Offshore areas are expected to experience occasional cloud coverage.

According to Qatar News Agency, the report specifies that inshore winds will be blowing from the Northerly-Northwesterly direction at speeds of 12-22 KT, with gusts reaching up to 30 KT at times. Offshore winds will be Northwesterly, ranging from 10-20 KT, with gusts of up to 27 KT.

The sea conditions inshore are projected to be between 2-4 FT, rising to 5 FT at times, while offshore seas are anticipated to range from 3-6 FT, increasing to 8 FT at times. Visibility inshore is expected to range from 4-9 KM, dropping to 3 KM or less at certain locations at times, while offshore visibility will be between 5-9 KM.
