Ecuadorian President Guillermo Lasso announced the dissolution of parliament, amid measures aimed at impeaching him.

The Ecuadorian presidency said in a statement that Lasso issued a decree dissolving the National Assembly due to the severe political crisis in the country.

The statement indicated that the president had asked the National Electoral Council to call for ear 6.4-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Southwest Guatemalaly legislative elections, pointing out that a date for new elections would be set within a week.
