Egypt and EU Deliberate on Security Measures in Horn of Africa

Doha: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with European Union’s Special Representative for the Horn of Africa, Annette Weber, to discuss strengthening consultation and coordination on ways to support the pillars of security and stability in the Horn of Africa. During the meeting, Abdelatty emphasized the need to intensify international and regional efforts to address the security challenges facing countries in the region, including combating terrorism and extremism.

According to Qatar News Agency, Weber provided a comprehensive assessment of the situation in the region, highlighting the European Union’s strong commitment to the security of the Red Sea and the stability of the Horn of Africa. The discussions underscored the importance of collaborative efforts between Egypt and the EU to tackle emerging threats and ensure sustained peace in the area.
