Erdogan Confirms: Turkey Plans To Ensure The Return Of One Million Syrian Refugees To Their Country

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed that Turkey plans to ensure the return of one million Syrian refugees to their country voluntarily and without coercion.

Erdogan said in a press statement today: “The return of refugees to their homeland will continue with the high level of security and stability in Syria. So far, more than 600,000 displaced people have returned to the country, and we plan to ensure the return of one million refugees to their homeland.”

He added, "The only way to solve the immigrant problem, which was exploited, especially during the recent elections, is to successfully fight terrorist organizations."

It was announced earlier that Turkey and Qatar are planning a project aims to build about a million homes in northern Syria for refugees who wish to return to their country.

It is expected that the number of returning refugees will increase in the future, thanks to Qatar's support for the project that is being implemented in the northern part of Syria.

This step comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts to provide support and assistance to people who have been displaced by the conflict in Syria.

The Turkish Minister of Interior, Ali Yerlikaya, announced yesterday, Wednesday, that Turkey hosts about 4.9 million refugees, 3 million of whom are Syrians./ End
