Istanbul, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed the need to put an end to the genocidal policy of the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the Gaza Strip. Erdogan said in a joint press conference with Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciulacu following their meeting today in Ankara: 'Netanyahu and his government are continuing the policy of genocide at the expense of endangering the security of their citizens, and this must be put to an end. He added: "The responsibilities of the international community regarding stopping the injustices committed by Israel and ensuring the security of our Palestinian brothers are clear, but despite this, steps are not being taken that would stop the massacre. The Turkish President explained that they exchanged ideas with Ciolacu about developments in the region and the world, in addition to bilateral relations. He pointed out that the Israeli injustice in Gaza and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories was at the forefront of these e xpressive issues of his belief that Romania will make the necessary contributions to international efforts in this regard. Erdogan stated that the course of the war in Ukraine, which has entered its third year, was discussed during his talks with the Romanian Prime Minister. He stressed that since the beginning of the war, Turkey has made and continues to make significant contributions to ending the clashes, ensuring global food security and safety of navigation in the Black Sea. Regarding bilateral relations with Romania, Erdogan indicated that trade exchange between the two countries exceeded 10 billion dollars during two consecutive years, and that the two countries' goal is to reach 15 billion dollars.
