The European Union confirmed its work together with the Iraqi government and its aspiration for greater cooperation to develop the private economic sector, which Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa urged. European Union Ambassador Thomas Seiler said, during the official announcement of the launch of the activities of the youth event (Unlocking Capabilities) on Wednesday in the capital, Baghdad, 'We are all looking forward to the role of youth in this country in cooperation between the European Union and Iraq, which is good cooperation and has increased over the past months in particular after our meeting with the Prime Minister, who stressed increasing this cooperation, as Iraq has a partnership with the European Union and other partnerships with many countries.' He added, "Our cooperation is linked to building the capabilities of youth and increasing the economic and social aspect of Iraqi youth, as more than half of the population is under 25 years old and youth are the source of society, and our meeting today is to show the potential of Iraqi youth and develop an important segment of society, and we also highlight economic and social development and job creation for youth. He explained, "The factor of vocational training is important for young people, and this requires important matters to develop the Iraqi youth who need good education and the revival of the spirit of work," pointing out that there is a role for youth and civil society organizations in cooperation with the government to develop their social and economic capabilities. He continued to say, 'Many young people want to start their own work and not be workers for others, so these young people must be supported to have work and their own companies,' stressing that 'Iraqi youth are ready to develop themselves and draw a new image for the new Iraq that is built by youth, and this stability must be strengthened.'
