Kuala Lumpur, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamed Hasan in Kuala Lumpur. The meeting coincicided with the official visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Malaysia for the coronation of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim ibni Sultan Iskandar as King of Malaysia. The meeting focused on the strong relations between Bahrain and Malaysia and the significant development in various domains. It discussed means to enhance cooperation in political, economic, and investment sectors, in line with existing agreements to serve common interests. The ministers discussed expanding cooperation through the activation of the High Joint Committee between the two countries and Bahrain's membership in the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia, which Malaysia will chair in 2025. They also reviewed Bahrain's initiative during its presidency of the 33rd Arab Summit to establish a partnership forum between the Arab League and the A ssociation of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The meeting reviewed the outcomes of the Arab Summit hosted by Bahrain in May, presided by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Key initiatives from the summit included calls for an international conference to resolve the Palestinian issue, support for full UN membership for Palestine, and providing educational and health services for those affected by regional conflicts, in addition to initiatives on financial technology, innovation, and digital transformation. The ministers discussed regional and international developments, efforts to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East, the ongoing conflict in Gaza, and the efforts for a permanent ceasefire, the release of hostages, and humanitarian aid delivery to civilians in Gaza. The meeting was attended by Dr. Waleed Khalifa Al Manea, Ambassador of Bahrain to Malaysia, and senior officials from the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Source: Bahrain News Agency
