Foreign Ministry: Syria follows the situation of Syrians residing in the brotherly Sudan, evacuates those who want

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed that Syria is following with big concern the situation of Syrians residing in brotherly Sudan and wishes them and the brotherly Sudanese people security and safety.

“Within the framework of the Syrian government’s keenness to help Syrian citizens wishing to evacuate from Sudan, the ministry made contacts with brotherly and friendly countries to assist in the evacuation process and the Syrian Embassy in Khartoum, under the direction of the Ministry, has registered lists of names of citizens wishing to be evacuated, in cooperation with members of the community” The ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

The ministry added that with the help of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, hundreds of Syrians were evacuate from the city of Port Sudan, to which a team from the embassy arrived, and dozens were evacuated with the help of the brothers in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.

The ministry extended Syria’s thanks to all brotherly Arab countries for their productive humanitarian efforts and also expressed its gratitude to the friendly Russian Federation for the invaluable assistance in this regard.

The ministry added that Cham Wings Airlines is keen on launching an initiative to provide an evacuation flight from the city of Port Sudan as the ministry liaises with concerned parties to put this initiative into action based on the registered lists in the Syrian Embassy in Khartoum, as details of the mentioned flight and others will be announced in time.
