London: French President Emmanuel Macron announced that Paris and London are proposing a one-month truce in Ukraine, which would cover attacks on air, sea, and energy infrastructure.
According to Qatar News Agency, Macron made these comments following a special summit on Ukraine held in London. He mentioned that any deployment of European peacekeeping forces in Ukraine would be considered in later stages and would not occur in the upcoming weeks.
Macron also suggested that European countries should increase their defense spending to between 3% and 3.5% of their total GDP. This recommendation is in response to shifting policies under US President Donald Trump.
The statements by Macron were made after a significant summit in London, which gathered dozens of European officials to discuss support for Ukraine and to review European defense issues.
