GCC Affirms Its Support for Efforts to Achieve Security, Stability in Yemen

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) affirmed its support for all efforts aimed at achieving security and stability and ending the crisis in Yemen.

This came during a meeting held Monday between Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassim Muhammad Al Budaiwi and Chairperson of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al Alimi, at the headquarters of the council's General Secretariat in Riyadh.

Al Budaiwi stressed GCC's firm position regarding support for the efforts led by the United Nations (UN) to end the Yemini crisis, through a political solution based on the three terms of reference, represented by the Gulf initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive national dialogue conference, and Security Council Resolution 2216, in a way that preserves Yemen's sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity and independence.

During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments in Yemen, as well as several regional and international issues of mutual interest.
