Muscat Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), visited the headquarters of the GCC Statistical Centre in Oman, where he was received by Intisar bint Abdullah Al Wahibiah, Director General of the centre. The Secretary General praised the great and distinguished role of the GCC Statistical Centre in completing statistics and studies in many fields across the GCC countries, in cooperation with national statistical centres in the Cooperation Council countries, thereby contributing to strengthening joint Gulf action. During the visit, Albudaiwi said that the GCC countries rely heavily on the centre's outputs and rely on it to monitor numbers and statistics related to many sectors in the Gulf countries. He indicated that these statistics contribute positively to helping decision-makers analyse and study them, and then make the right decisions about the sectors they cover. The Secretary General also said that the comprehensiveness of the reports, clarifications, and data for the centre's activities and tasks is an important source of current and future Gulf projects. Albudaiwi praised the role and efforts of the centre's employees in the distinguished preparation of many statistics and reports, and their continuous and permanent follow-up in updating these statistics.
