Riyadh, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Nayef Al Hajraf has stressed the significance of international organizations' participation in backing developmental and humanitarian efforts in Yemen.
Al Hajraf made the statement during a meeting with Vice-President of the World Bank for Middle East and North Africa Ferid Belhaj, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reports.
The GCC chief spoke highly of the World Bank's involvement in ongoing GCC-patronized inter-Yemeni consultations held in Riyadh on March 29 - April 7, the GCC Secretariat General said in a statement.
Al Hajraf said the World Bank has a role in shoring up security and stability and restoring peace in Yemen, underlining the significance of inter-Yemen negotiations to bolster humanitarian and social aid to Yemen.
The GCC comprises Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
