HM King issues decree (38) of 2024

Manama, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Decree (38) of 2024 restructuring the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA), based on a proposal of the Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, and following the approval of the Cabinet. Article I The Electricity and Water Authority shall be restructured as follows: The Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, responsible for: First: Communication Directorate. Second: Deputy Chief Executive for Resources and Services (at the rank of Assistant Undersecretary), responsible for: 1- Directorate of Human Resources. 2- Directorate of Procurement and Equipment. 3- Directorate of Public Services and Central Stores. Third: Deputy Chief Executive for Financial Affairs (at the rank of Assistant Undersecretary), responsible for: 1- Directorate of Financial Planning. 2- Directorate of Financial Operations. Fourth: Deputy Chief Executive for Subscriber Services and Digital Transformation (at the rank of Assistant Undersecretary), responsible for: 1- Directorate of Client Services. 2- Directorate of Collection and Billing. 3- Directorate of Digital Infrastructure. 4- Directorate of Digital Solutions. Fifth: Deputy Chief Executive for Electricity Affairs (at the rank of Assistant Undersecretary), responsible for: 1- Directorate of Electricity Transmission. 2- Directorate of Electricity Distribution. 3- Directorate of Electricity Planning and Projects. Sixth: Deputy Chief Executive for Water Affairs (at the rank of Assistant Undersecretary), responsible for: 1- Directorate of Water Transmission. 2- Directorate of Water Distribution. 3- Directorate of Water Planning and Projects. Seventh: Deputy Chief Executive for Electricity and Water Purchasing (at the rank of Assistant Undersecretary), responsible for: 1- Directorate of Strategic Planning for Electricity and Water. 2- Directorate of Private Production Station Projects. Article II Decree (39) of 2020 regulating the EWA is repealed. Article III The Minister of Electricity and Water Affair s shall implement this decree, and it will be effective from the date of its issuance and be published in the Official Gazette.
