The security forces imposed today Friday afternoon, a series of strict measures that included closing the entrances to the Green Zone in the center of the capital, Baghdad, after popular calls to demonstrate in front of the US embassy building at 5:pm .
Activists and bloggers circulated a series of tweets calling for demonstrations, including "delivering a message to the enemies of Islam," and "your hegemony over Iraq will not remain unanswered," and "the demonstrations aim to defend the rights of Iraq and Iraqis and are not linked to any political situation."
The gathering of the demonstrators will be at 5:00 pm in Al-Jadriya near the suspension Bridge, then they will head inside the Green Zone to reach the US Embassy building.
